Roald Dahl is considered one of the greatest storytellers for children of the 20th century.
He was born in 1916 at Villa Marie, Fairwater Road, in Llandaff, Cardiff, Wales. His parents were from Norway. Can you find the city of Cardiff in the map of UK?


Dahl was named after the Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen.



On September 13th 2016, we celebrated the 100th birthday of this British writer. He wrote a lot of famous books for children and adults. Some examples are: 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', 'James and the Giant Peach' and 'Matilda'. He was also a script writer and wrote the script of the film 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.

The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is situated in the Backinghamshire village, where Roald Dahl lived and wrote for 36 years. Have a look at the video below:
