Cristóbal de Monroy High School is the oldest education centre in Alcalá de Guadaíra. It was built in 1968. It is a public school located in the northern area of the town, which is fifteen kilometres away from Seville. Our high school was named after Cristóbal de Monroy, who was a historian,  playwright and poet from the 17th century Spanish Golden Age.

In this high school there are 1300 students who study in the morning classes and nearly 1000 who study in the evening and in blended classes. There are 115 teachers.  There are also 23 groups of secondary education and 9 groups of Bachillerato. In addition, there is vocational training in Commerce, Transport and Computer Science.
